Power2Practice deserves credit as one of the first platforms to recognize that integrative and functional medicine practitioners needed technology built for their specific workflow. In its early days, the platform was a genuine pioneer, offering features that conventional EMRs could not match. Unfortunately, the story of Power2Practice in recent years has been one of stagnation rather than growth.

Integrative Medicine DNA

The platform's integrative medicine origins still show in its structure. Scheduling accommodates extended visits, the documentation framework acknowledges the comprehensive nature of functional medicine assessments, and specialty lab connectivity covers many of the laboratories that integrative practitioners rely on. Supplement management features exist, and the overall conceptual framework reflects an understanding of how integrative practices operate.

The Stagnation Problem

Where Power2Practice struggles is in keeping up with the rapid evolution of practice technology. The interface has not received the attention it needs, feeling slow and visually dated compared to modern alternatives. Feature development has slowed considerably, leaving the platform without the AI-powered tools, modern patient engagement features, and workflow automation that newer competitors offer. Users frequently report frustration with the pace of improvements and the responsiveness of customer support.

Pricing Concerns

Perhaps the most significant issue is the disconnect between what Power2Practice charges and what it delivers. The pricing positions it as a premium product, but the feature set and user experience no longer justify that premium when compared to what platforms like Hero EMR, Cerbo, and Practice Better offer at competitive or even lower price points.

The Bottom Line

Power2Practice may still work adequately for practices already committed to the platform, but we cannot recommend it for new implementations. The combination of an aging interface, limited development momentum, declining support quality, and premium pricing makes it difficult to justify when excellent alternatives exist. Practices currently on Power2Practice should seriously evaluate migration to Hero EMR or Cerbo, both of which offer superior feature sets with active development roadmaps.
